Signal rules

When this happens, do that.

A rule connects a signal to an action. “When a company we watch publishes a careers page, enroll its head of talent in my hiring sequence.” Write it once and switch it on. It runs on every signal from then on.

Four actions

Enroll in a campaign, add to a target, create a task, or suggest a next step.

Combine conditions

Signal type, strength, age, industry, country, stage, and more.

Rate limits

Cap how often a rule can act, so one busy week can't flood your mailboxes.

Dry run first

See what a rule would have done before you turn it on.

Conditions

Only the signals that matter to you.

The same change means different things to different sellers. A rule lets you say which signals count for your offer, how fresh they must be, and which accounts they apply to.

  • Signal type or whole signal family
  • Minimum strength and maximum age
  • Industry, country and account stage
  • Has, or doesn't have, another signal

Actions

From a signal to a sent email.

The strongest action enrolls the contact behind the signal in a campaign, and the first email can mention the change. Lighter actions put the account in front of you and leave the decision to you.

  • Enroll the contact in a campaign
  • Add the account to a target
  • Create a task for someone on your team
  • Suggest a next step with a ready opener

Control

Writing a rule and switching it on are separate steps.

You can build and test a rule without it acting. Start from a template, dry-run it against recent signals, and switch it on when the result looks right.

  • Templates to start from
  • Dry run against recent signals
  • Per-rule rate limits
  • A log of every time a rule fired

Good to know

Rules need a contact

An enroll action needs someone to send to. If an account has no reachable contact, the rule says so instead of guessing.

As fast as the checks

A rule fires when the signal arrives, and signals arrive on each source's check schedule.

You still own the copy

Rules choose who and when. The sequence they enroll into is the one you wrote.
